The base of each cone stand is made in your choice of oak or cherry with the peg, bushing and vertical rod made in Baltic birch. The thread guide is made from brass and along with the heaviness of the wood makes this a very sturdy stand not giving to tipping or bending. For those of you who use large cones this is a must. You can use a single standard spool, or by putting on the one inch bushing, you can use large money saving cones on your sewing machine making this a multi use stand. And again the tension stays perfect as it feeds into your machine.
